With a Radically Different® approach to the business, we’re not a craft or micro distillery but rather we fuse tradition and technology to create award-winning spirits. Since we shipped our first bottles in March of 2013, Cleveland Whiskey has won over 65 medals in competitions around the world, including 24 Gold and Double Gold awards.
The Content Manager is responsible for the co-development and execution of Cleveland Whiskey’s content strategy. S/he will create detailed content and disseminate it across clevelandwhiskey.com, smokerBRICX.com, offline, email distributions, various advertising and social media outlets. This content will drive B2C and B2B action and engagement for our brands for both online + offline channels. S/he will be a hands-on producer and work with the team to accomplish content strategy. This role reports to the Marketing Director.
You’ll need to be flexible with your schedule, innovative with your thinking and willing to go out on a limb with recommendations and ideas. There may be occasional travel, times you need to help with both on- and off-site events, learn how to give distillery tours and be part of the rotation. It’s certainly not just a 9 to 5 job.
Work collaboratively with internal team to develop compelling creative content that supports a unique and differentiated brand experience for Cleveland Whiskey.
Translate strategy into concept and execution that is on target for our target audiences and helps drive marketing objectives.
Ensure all content is consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for each channel including offline, online, social media, email, and print.

Source new ways to develop content
Generate original content, as well as modify existing content to be more compelling and generate greater engagement; includes copywriting from product copy, descriptions, video scripts, etc to ensure continuous improvement
Use varied methods such as audio, video, forums, blogs, influencers, etc. to extend awareness and drive engagement with Cleveland Whiskey’s brands and categories
Ensure content accuracy and effectiveness – continuous content audit and optimization
Responsible for implementing, leveraging and optimizing the tools and technologies within the organization related to content; also owns the relationships with the companies that provide these tools
Implement system to effectively track, manage and report on all content requests
Proven experience in taking raw ideas/concepts and creating content suitable for publishing across various channels that help meet objectives
Proven writing and editorial skills evidenced by a portfolio of work
Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, working both collaboratively and independently
Leads by example with equal emphasis on quality of work, creativity and respect of others
Is a resource for events when needed
Experience using Web based tools such as Wordpress, Shopify, Constant Contact, Canva, Adobe Spark, etc
Experienced with PowerPoint, Excel, Word and project management software tools
Experienced with Adobe Creative Suite
Basic Design Skills, photography, and video production
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or Related field
3-5 years of content marketing experience
