The Retention Specialist generally work on the phone, making and receiving phone calls from existing Members as a part of the customer service department. The purpose of this job is to keep customers happy with our company through our Mission and Values, to provide World Class Service.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):
Responds to member inquiries via telephone and written correspondence regarding cancellations
Answers incoming calls and emails in a courteous and professional manner
Places outbound calls and emails for retention/cancellation feedback and works to retain the member
Send personalized cards to members thanking them for their loyalty and encourage them to share their positive experience with others
Operates PC or thin client to obtain and extract information
Documents inquiry outcomes
Requires basic job knowledge of Liberty HealthShare services and programs
Performs basic job functions with help from coworkers and higher personnel on non-basic issues and complex inquires
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Filters Help Desk emails to appropriate departments in a timely manner
Analyzes problems and provides information/solutions
Portrays a professional image
Communicates with internal and external members in a professional manner
Practices ethical conduct
Meets acceptable attendance and punctuality expectations
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Available to work 40 hours per week anytime within the operating hours of the department
One year experience in insurance, healthcare or customer service
Previous experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to empathize and project a strong understanding of member needs
Individual must have a good command of the English language and have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
One year Call Center experience related to insurance or medical field
Knowledge of medical terminology
Required Minimum Education:
High School Graduate or GED
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree
Office environment with low to moderate noise levels
Frequent sitting, long periods working at a computer
Occasional walking, standing
