Set-Up, operate, and maintain pilot-scale polymer processing equipment for academic research, development and scale up initiatives at the National Polymer Innovation Center. Support internal and external customers including faculty, students, external academic and industry collaborators with excellent customer service. Requires superior people skills. Document Standard Operating Procedures for pilot processing equipment. Troubleshoot and repair machines and equipment as needed. Implement and maintain an effective Preventive Maintenance program. Ability to effectively interface with machine and material vendors. Innovation mindset
A relevant Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Polymer Engineering and experience operating process or production equipment. Hands-on mechanical and electrical experience and aptitude including PLC equipment required. Direct customer facing experience with demonstrated customer satisfaction. Strong written and computer skills.
One to two years’ experience with plastics / polymer related processes such as extrusion, coating, roll-to-roll processing or equivalent. A relevant advanced degree is preferred.
