Let us explain – ContiTech has been at this for a while (a while = 100+ years) and have consistently been the world’s largest manufacturer in the non-tire rubber sector. However, our Business Unit was established just in 2015 to meet increasing market demand. Translation: we’re in growth mode and we’re ready to prove ourselves.

We’re just missing one piece of the puzzle: a Global Quality Leader. That’s where you come in.

We are looking for a Global Head of Quality to lead and continuously improve best-in-class quality of product and business processes which drive operational excellence for BU IFS on a global scale.

About the Role:

  • Strategy Creation – create and implement the quality strategy for the BU IFS, including alignment with Continental quality strategy and anchoring in all relevant regions and locations.
  • Optimization and Standardization – analyze, optimize, and define the Quality Management structure and processes within the Business Unit to assure consistency worldwide.
  • Goal Attainment – verify the effectiveness of a uniform QM system with the Business Unit through relevant KPIs. Advise and support all locations and specialist functions on quality issues according to corporate standard specifications and customer specifications at the location. Ensure monitoring and reporting of quality related data and topics, consulting the management team regularly.
  • Quality Assurance – secure customer specific requirements. Assure all quality requirements are met with the target to achieve quality leadership for all customers and to ensure the Continental “Quality First” mindset.
  • Product Life Cycle – responsible for the standards of the PLC process within BU IFS. Participate in the introduction of standards across the organization.
  • Quality IT Systems – define the standards of quality related IT systems within the BU IFS. Participate in the introduction of standards across the organization.
  • Communication – regular external communication with customers and suppliers. Internal communication on all quality related issues (especially escalation level), including with production plants and other functions like Purchasing and Supplier Quality Management and Operations.
  • Leadership – Lead and motivate your team to drive operational excellence in the area of quality. Co-responsible for filling the positions of quality managers in the plants. Set and control quality related targets for employees in their individual goals.

QualificationsAbout Your Profile:

  • Technical degree and quality-related training (e.g. Six Sigma) with strong operational focus
  • Broad operational work experience, including within the quality function
  • Good knowledge in the process of Quality System requirements, Quality Tools, and Audits
  • Excellent communication skills with the capability of explaining the strategic vision into Quality Processes
  • Several years of leadership experience, including leading teams at various international locations
  • International experience required; must be able to work effectively in a global organization
  • High willingness to travel worldwide, approximately 50%
