Job Description

This position is responsible for ensuring the flow of work through a production area and making sure that quality parts are being produced in the quantities specified in the schedule. The Patterns Team Leader role is a hands-on role with the Team Lead out on the manufacturing floor working with operators to train them on the proper and safe procedures for using equipment, inspection of parts and ensuring adherence to defined processes. The Team Leader is responsible for identifying and documentation problems and where possible, solves any quick production problems to restore the flow path.

Job Responsibilities


The following tasks represent 80-85% of the time and activities of a Patterns Team Leader:

  • Oversee activities on a shift to ensure that standard processes are being followed and quality parts are being produced in accordance with the schedule.
  • Provide immediate feedback – positive when process is being followed and corrective when operator deviates from the defined process or works unsafely.
  • Make any immediate shifts in resources (people or machine) as needed due to unforeseen problems (i.e. machine inoperable, unplanned absences on shift, die or material problems, etc.)
  • Execute operator level training which is an ongoing, reiterative process

o Process trainingo Skill training (i.e. finishing, assembly, etc.)o Safe work practice trainingo Area specific trainingo Operator level inspection – visual and perhaps simple measurementOther responsibilities of the Patterns Team Leader include:

  • Identify and document issues and problems (process, product and/or people) and raise them to the Patterns Supervisor or other management.
  • Daily attendance tracking – notifying Patterns Supervisor of issues
  • Ensure safe work practices and that all EHS policies and requirements are being followed. Additionally, all employees are expected to be actively engaged in the continuous improvement of safety practices in all areas of the facility.
  • Complete projects and tasks assigned by the Patterns Supervisor


Qualifications
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.High School Diploma or GED required

  • Two (2) years supervisory experience in manufacturing OR
  • Two (2) years wax finishing/dressing or wax assembly experience

preferred:

  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Sufficient math skills to track production.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and activities
  • Flexibility – comfortable with operating in a chaotic environment, able to quickly change direction and to generally “roll with the punches”
  • Good mechanical understanding (for plastic and wax injection team leads only) and ability to diagnose and fix very minor machine problems.
